At OncoloFit we help every improve their health and fitness, but we also wanted to create a safe space for cancer survivors to improve their health and fitness as well.

Becuase as a cancer survivor, by know may have heard, seen, and read a lot of good, bad, and crazy information.

And many people with good intentions have given you unqualified and unsolicited advice regarding

  • How you got cancer.

  • Why you got it.

  • How to feel.

  • How to cure it.

By now you have heard all the scammy fad diets, alternative medicines, weed dealers, fasting options, supplement, herbal, and holistic “medical” scams on the market.

But enough is enough.

You’ve been through too much to keep getting fed a bunch of butt cheeks.

So naturally, OncoloFit was born.

A place where you can directly get quality health and fitness information as a cancer survivor.

All the information we provide is research backed, evidence based, and has been applied to help many cancer survivors on their health and fitness journey.

See, we found that many cancer survivors are looking to improve their health and fitness but in this confusing world of health, fitness, and cancer it can be challenging to know what is true and what is not.

So we are here to guide you through evidence based practices, which many hospitals do not provide, due to lack of funding, and knowledge.

Our programs are all led by a clinical cancer exercise physiologist to help you safely prevent disease, fight cancer, lose weight, exercise, and live better.

We can’t solve everything,

but we will guide you on the right path with your exercise, nutrition, and weight management.

  • No we help everyone in their health and fitness journey.

    We just also want to create a safe space for cancer survivors as well.

  • Not all cancer survivors require medical clearance, however, it is highly recommend and a good practice to always ask your doctor first.

    But if you you are in cancer treatment, have had major lung/abdominal surgery, history of heart disease such as: heart failure, heart inflammation’s, and arrhythmia,

    or currently have an ostomy, stage 4 cancer, lymphedema, or extreme fatigue.

    Medical clearance by a physician is required.

  • Asking for clearance doesn’t have to be as complicated.

    It can be as simple as messaging your provider through their portal system, an email, or a call.

  • Your exercise plan is ever changing through cancer as there are multiple moving pieces.

    However, our personal recommendation is to always the oncologist whose main treatment you as currently under.

    If it’s after surgery as your surgical oncologist, and if its radiation ask your radiation oncologist.

  • Exercise supervision by a trained professional is required in cases of:

    • peripheral neuropathy,

    • arthritis,

    • osteopenia/ osteoporosis,

    • bone metastasis

    • lung/abdominal surgery,

    • ostomy,

    • lymphedema,

    • extreme fatigue,

    • history of heart disease such as: heart failure, heart inflammation’s, and arrhythmia.

  • Though exercise is safe, there are certain contraindications to exercise, such as:

    • severe anemia,

    • wounds that are healing after surgery,

    • swelling/ inflammations of lymphedema,

    • or active infections.

  • CEP’s are both clinically and exercise trained.

    They focus on evidence based medicine and science based exercise training to assist clients with lung and/or heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and the metabolic syndrome.

  • If you are someone who wants to take your fitness and health to the next level, need accountability and motivation to reach your goals an exercise physiologist is right for you.

  • OncoloFit focuses on exercise and fat loss to improve your health and fitness.

    Every month you will get nutritional guidance and exercise recommendations to help improve your health, fitness, and fat loss.

  • Specific nutritional needs require an oncology certified dietician if you have cancer.

    However, you will be provided with:

    1. General non-medical nutritional guidance.

    2. Principles of good nutrition and food preparation.

    3. General food to be included in the normal daily diet of healthy individuals.

    4. Essential nutrients needed by the body.

    5. Recommended amounts of the essential nutrients for healthy individuals.

    6. The actions of nutrients on the body and the effects of deficiencies or excesses of nutrients on the body.

    7. Food and supplements that are good sources of essential nutrients.

  • Both exercise and cancer treatment require different phasing.

    Every cancer treatment has a niche focus on how fights cancer, and in turn has specific side effects.

    So your exercise should focus on targeting those side effects with exercise. Our programs are designed for your treatment schedule and keep you in mind through every phase of treatment and survivorship.
